The sun is out and I feel like eating fruit

Hi there,

I know, I know, I haven't posted in quite a few days. Got stuck with a huge amount of work to do. I spend all my time in my books and writing and I'm fed up of being glued to my desk. That doesn't mean I neglect my nails, although my cuticles feel a bit left out (Loodie will surely kill me if she sees them!).

Since the sun has been shining quite a bit the past few days and I haven't really had a chance to be outside and take advantage of this nice weather, I decided I was in desperate need of a bright and shiny polish. My choice: China Glaze's Watermelon rind.

Gosh I love this polish in all of it's shimmery green-blue splendor. I'm wearing two coats of it in the pictures.

Check it out, it's gorgeous:

The first two pictures were taken indoors.

Picture taken outdoors, in the shade.

No Pantone reference for this one as it's too shimmery... sorry :)

What's on your nails now?

Murky water

Hello there!

I'm rested and felt like a lacquer change. My choice? Sinful colors' Kaki.

Great color and formula; very smooth and opaque in 2 coats. I'm starting to really like this polish line.

As the color isn't easy to describe, aside the fact that it looks like swamp water, I thought I'd try something new and compare it with the closest pantone reference I have so you would have a better idea of what this beauty looks like.

I think I might do this with all my future posts. Let me know what you think about that.

Glitter A-taupe the space needle

Hi!

Quick post today as I'm exhausted. Just passed my coptic oral exam this morning and all I want to do is crash on my couch. Everything went really well but I need to sleep for like 3 days now! Getting old getting old I tell you!

For my "exam nails" I used OPI's A-taupe the space needle, that I topped with INM's gold "holo" glitter topcoat. I wanted something calm and really liked the end result.

What do you think about this combo?

A Legendary polish

Hello my dears!

I am very excited about this post and have actually been postponing it for 2 days now because of my work. I'm swamped.

I have a gorgeous and very mysterious polish to show you today. An a-england beauty from "The Legends" collection: Princess Sabra (aka Tristam eyes).

I ordered most of the polishes from this collecion last Sunday and received them Tuesday. I contacted the lovely Adina Bodana, the master mind behind the a-england line and was lucky enough to get them so quickly. Adina really is such a sweet person. I wrote her a couple of emails and she replied to each one of them ever so quickly, I almost thought she was reading my mind and mentally replying via her email!

"The Legends" collection is now availible on the a-england website, so if you are as mesmerized by these polishes as I am, start placing your orders ladies!

The polishes I ordered are all prismatic (or holographic if you prefer, although the term isn't correct) and have a depth and mystery to them I've never seen before.

I also ordered THE KNIGHT basecoat and THE SHIELD topcoat. I haven't tried the topcoat yet but am really pleased with the basecoat. It has a great consistency and dries quickly.

Back to Princess Sabra/Tristam eyes (Adina's cat. Hello Tristam! Miaow).
This polish, (sighs), ah this polish, I can't believe how incredible it is.

The color? How to describe this color? Hmm. I'd say it's an olive-gold base infused with prismatic particles that confer it that incredible shine, depth and fascinating "holo" effect that is very potent, even more on the nail than in the bottle.

One word: CAPTIVATING!

The formula was great. Smooth, easy to apply, quick-drying and incredibly shiny. I didn't even use a topcoat and the end result was even shinier than when I use a high-gloss topcoat over a random polish.

The brush was perfect and allowed a flawless application.

Wearability? I've had this polish on since Tuesday and there are absolutely no signs of tipwear, no chips, no dullness of color, and I've been shifting through books, cleaning, cooking and doing dishes for 4 days now.

Thanks so much Adina for having imagined and created such an awesome polish. I'm really impressed by the quality, the colors, the application and so much more!

On to the pictures (sorry there are so many, I had trouble capturing Princess Sabra's beauty on camera due to the lack of sun)

The color reminded me of my preferred Nespresso coffee capsule (Indriya)

I immediately was in a medieval mood when I applied Princess Sabra!

Something bright to fight this cold weather and gloomy sky

Hello my dears,

It's still freezing cold here and the city is a mess due to the snowy blizzardy weather.

Iwas in desperate need to see something bright on my nails so I applied a juicy orange polish: Essie's Tart Deco.

It's the first time I wear this. It was hiding in my stash in between two other bottles of untried beauties.

Two coats were enough to reach opacity and the formula was very good, self leveling, no bubbles or streaks. Oh Essie, you really have become my preferred polish.

All 4 pictures were taken indoors in artificial lighting...to cold to go outside, sorry ladies!

How about you - Do you have a preferred nail polish brand?

Freezing cold kisses!

My first Youtube video!

Hi there!

I'm very excited because I just uploaded my very first Youtube video! It's a nail polish video, obviously! I was pretty nervous about it and wasn't sure I wanted to be seen on screen but I enjoy watching these videos and thought I might give it a shot.

Please check it out:

I'm also excited because I just reached 100 followers! To celebrate, I might try to set up a giveaway in the next few weeks, although I'm not too keen on giveaways and don't want people to subscribe just for that occasion, I'd rather give my regular followers a little lacquered gift... I'm not sure yet and will continue thinking about it as soon as my exams are over.

Greetings from Winterfell

Hello my dears,

It's freezing cold here and the wind has been howling like crazy for the past few days. If you've seen European weather forecasts you will know what I mean.

I haven't been out in 2 days and feel like I'm trapped in Winterfell! Ahh this cold! I envy my boyfriend who has sunny weather and 23°C in Luxor, but not the mosquito bites he's suffering daily!

The positive side is I have plenty of time not only to prepare my final Coptic examen that's planned for the 14th but also to write my dissertation on Egyptian magic and magicians.

To keep focused on my research I decided to wear a polish that wouldn't distract me too much; well I thought it wouldn't distract me when I chose it but it's so gorgeous that I catch myself staring at my nails in between 2 papyri!

Enough blabbering and on to the polish. I'm wearing 2 coats of Essie's Master plan. You surely know this polish already but I felt like sharing it with you anyway.
The formula was great; nothing negative to say about it. I think this is going to be one of my favorites.
